Profile

Alexander Markus Lembke has been a professional photographer and adventurer for over 15 years with a lasting passion for polar environments. He is an expert guide in the area and has a deep understanding of the rigours of arctic photography, calling Longyearbyen his second home.

During the last thirteen years he was frequently on the move in Finland, Scandinavia and on Svalbard. His work focuses on documenting, storytelling and different forms of photographic essay, which has been featured in magazines, newspapers and corporate publications among others. Alex is also available as unit still photographer and produces emotive photographic images for your business marketing needs – PR, events, corporate portraits and commercial activities. His trademarks are a high visual standard and minimalistic photographic approach combined together with an expressive visual language.

As an independent photography professional he is pursuing several self initiated projects, which includes documenting the social reality of sauna habits and extrapolating the findings to understand the long-term role of Sauna in contemporary Finnish society. Another main focus is photography’s role in championing ecological awareness and investigating man’s invasion into the realm of nature.
